The last words of Deshbandhu & Thakur’s warnings Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das passed away at his Darjeeling resort “Step Aside” on 16th June,1925. Sri Manohar Chandra Basu who was whole time P.A. to Deshbandhu disclosed the last statement of Deshbandhu after a few days of his sad demise. At the last moment of his life, Deshbandhu desired, "Bhombal, aami Pabna jabo [Bhombal, I ‘ll go Pabna].” At that time, Mr.Chiraranjan Das alias ‘Bhombal’ who was his only son was staying with his wife Sujata Devi at Pabna Satsang Ashram under the guidance of Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra. Deshbandhu took the holy initiation from Mata Manmohini Devi on 14th May,1924. After that, in a historic letter to Mahahtma Gandhi Deshbandhu wrote him,”I was beset with innumerable difficulties which, in-spite of the knowledge and experience I had, I could not solve. But, I got a very strong feeling from Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra after accepting Him as my Guru. I have learnt from my Guru , the value of Truth in all our dealings. I want you to live with Him for a few days at least. Your need is not the same as mine. But, He has given me strength, I did not possess before. I see things clearly which I saw dimly before.” Before leaving for his much needed vacation in Darjeeling to recover his poor health C.R.Das declared with high hopes, “Thakur, I ‘m going to make this village the brain centre of India. I ‘ll bring all the leaders here to meet with you!” “Das da,” Thakur shook His head sadly, “Will such attention make us more than we are? Come. Stay with us a while. Rest and regain your health. You are exhausted Das da …….” But, Basanti Devi (wife of Deshbandhu) was infused with a nervous tension that Deshbandhu could not take proper rest in Pabna instead of Darjeeling. So, Deshbandhu left Pabna promising Thakur that he would come back for a longer stay in the near future. But, he was never to return. Ten days later the Satsangees were saddened by the news that their eminent brother ,C.R.Das was no more. With this death, the followers of Thakur had felt again that there should be no alternative way of Thakur’s warnings.
